VALUE CREATION COMMITTEE
Over the past 2 years our Value Creation Committee (“VCC”) has been engaging with our portfolios companies to help them in many different ways. The VCC is comprised of some of our valuable members each assigned not more than 3 companies. The objectives of the VCC are to led post-investment oversight and activities such as networking, supporting and helping the business growth, advising on potential funding requirements. The VCC is now chaired by Nicolas Sibuet.
Nicolas is a global executive that has a strong network and relationships in Middle East, Asia, Africa, South America and Europe in the Oil & Gas industry with a particular focus on Business Development and Financing Activities. He has a wide range of strategic, financial and business development experience, managing equity, debt, IPO and merger and acquisition transactions.
Hatem Dowidar is Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat Group; one of the largest telecom operators in the MENA region. He sits on the boards of Etisalat subsidiaries in Morocco, Egypt and Pakistan. Prior
to joining Etisalat Group, Hatem was the Group Chief of Staff for Vodafone Group based in London, reporting to Vodafone Group CEO.
Mahmoud is the Head of Growth at one of the fastest growing startups in the region: Kitopi. He has over 10 years of experience managing growth teams
in the startup ecosystem having previously served
as the Chief Growth Officer of Uturn. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Director of Sports Entertainment at Intigral.
Michael Truschler is an entrepreneur and e-commerce guru, and an expert on setting up & growing businesses in the GCC. He is currently founder and CEO of Flexxpay, a fintech solution for the underbanked in MENA. Prior to Flexxpay, Michael was a co-founder of CitrussTV, the Middle East’s home shopping channel and one of the most instantly recognizable brands in the Arab World.
Abdulla has served as a Leveraged Finance banker with Merrill Lynch London, as Co-founder of Tuareg Capital and manager of the $30m Libya Fund (private equity) and as Director of LAP GreenN (Africa mobile investments). Abdulla is a private investor, until very recently, a shareholder and director of Manor Racing Formula 1 Team and is an active angel investor.
Simone is a Partner in PwC Middle East, and the Digital Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Resilience advisory lead for the region. After accumulating more than 10 years of Digital, CyberSecurity and Infrastructure experience in Western, Central and Eastern Europe, UK, US, Russia and Central Asia.
Bakry is the founder and Chief Growth Officer at 10Fold Innovation Labs, the
Middle East’s first holistic innovation and startup studio. His career spans +20
years in FMCG brand management, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He
worked and/or consulted for a multitude of global and regional brands like
Procter & Gamble, Americana Foods, Olympic Group, Business Travel
International, etc. He is also an avid angel investor and active advisor in the startup ecosystem in MEA.
Chehadé has over 15 years of experience in Consumer & Retail, Consulting and Digital Marketing. He currently leads the Business Marketing in Google MENA, enabling and bringing digital solutions to governments and companies in the region.
He is also one of the cofounders of The Healthy Home, the leading indoor sanitation
services company in the region. Ziad is an expert in geo expansion, digital marketing, go to market and growth strategies. Before joining Google, Ziad held several managerial positions at Unilever, Booz Allen Hamilton, Strategy& and also served as executive member at Ball Corporation.
Karim is a Business consultant, transformational leader, and projects management professional with more than 10 years experience in strategy and operations consulting across regions (Middle East and Africa, Latin America, Europe). Karim's experience covers Organizational Transformation and Efficiency, Operations: Supply Chain and Manufacturing and PMO in a wide range of industries such as consumer products, retail, construction & real estate and investment companies.
GEORGES AL FEGHALI
Georges has 12 years of experience in designing growth strategies, restructuring
investment portfolios and optimizing operating models in the Middle East and
North Africa. His experience spans various industries, including financial
services, real estate, food, construction, retail, entertainment and hospitality.
Georges held various senior positions with regional and international
corporations, including Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company) and Al Ghurair
Chiara is a Partner at McKinsey & Company, leading large-scale transformations of companies in the Middle East, specializing in operations, cost optimization, sales and channel management, and strategy. Chiara brings extensive experience in leading companies in the Middle East through operations transformations, focusing on cost optimization, supply-chain management, sales, and strategy. She also leads large-scale transformations in organization structure and processes. Chiara specializes in the telecommunications industry, bringing a deep knowledge of telecoms and all their functions end to end. She also has experience in the financial-services, retail, and public sectors, among others.
Sharaf holds the position of Managing Director at Gulf Capital. Prior to joining Gulf Capital Sharaf F. Sharaf was a leader in the mezzanine business at NBK Capital Partners where he was responsible for origination, investment selection, execution and portfolio monitoring. He commenced his career in 2001 in Canada, in corporate lending and project finance with The Bank of Nova Scotia, and subsequently in leveraged finance with BNP Paribas. He also worked at Investcorp in Bahrain.
Basil is a general partner at Global Ventures, a growth focused venture capital
firm. He started his career in the venture capital arm of Reuters PLC. He managed to complete 16 investments over 4 years in the fund achieving 33% IRR in-spite of the difficult years of 2001/2 for the markets. He later went on to become President of the Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters before it was sold to private equity for $3.55B in 2016. Since then, he has been based in the region focusing exclusively on startups, the local technology scene and most importantly investments and advisory work. He has built up a personal portfolio of 10 companies not just in MENA but also in the UK and China.
Nader is a founding partner of Orchestra Investments in the UAE, a company specialized in orchestrating business services and relationships between Egypt and the GCC. Nader is the Founder and Chairman of NAB Group, the exclusive Subway master franchisee for Egypt. He is also a founding member & CEO of the One Billion AED Wakira Investments in UAE & KSA. He is a passionate investor focused primarily on F&B, technology, real estate and Haute Horlogerie.
Nader is a seasoned executive with many start ups and launches under his belt. He went to university at the age of 16, he immediately launched his career parallel to his studies in starting his own cars trading business and working for the Xerox company at the age of 18. Joined Procter & Gamble right after graduation and for 9 years, launched many brands and businesses throughout the MEA region. Parallel to his work, developed and lectured an After-marketing MBA course for several years at the AUC and London City College. Joined Danone Group and through his 8 years journey, launched it in Algeria, all of the GCC and the Levant countries growing the business to AED 2 Billion. CEOed the AED 1.5 Billion Savola Egypt and then led the Savola Global business development and M&A in growing Savola’s portfolio while serving on the Global lead team and on the board of several Savola companies.
